At Artista by Lily, clay is our happy place: inclusive, inspiring, and just the right amount of mess. Whether you’re shaping on the wheel, modeling with clay, or painting a finished piece, our studio is a space where creativity flows and community grows.
What We Offer
Whether you’re completely new to clay or a seasoned potter, we have a class for you.
Perfect for beginners, these 1.5-hour sessions let you dip your hands into the potter’s wheel. Learn the basics of centering clay, shaping it into a bowl or mug, and leave with a project that we’ll finish, glaze, and fire for you to pick up in three weeks.
Our 4- and 8-week series delve deeper into the wheel. Learn how to center, shape, trim, and glaze your pieces, building skill and confidence with each session.
Not all pottery is made on the wheel! Explore techniques like slab shaping, coiling, and sculpting to bring your creative visions to life.
From date nights to themed workshops, our special events combine clay, creativity, and lots of fun.
Pottery at Artista by Lily isn’t just about making things — it’s about making memories. You’ll join a supportive community where laughter is just as important as technique. We welcome kids, teens, and adults alike, and we believe that everyone has an artist inside them, ready to emerge.
Come ready to get a little messy, try something new, and create something you’ll be proud to say: I made this!
At Artista by Lily, we take the stress out of planning, shopping, and cleaning up your next masterpiece. Come create with us—then we’ll handle the finishing magic (glazing and firing) so your piece is ready to shine.
Choose from a rainbow of pieces (mugs, bowls, plates, figurines, and seasonal favorites) and then paint with our glazes and studio tools. We’ll glaze and fire your work so it’s glossy and food-safe, and let you know when it’s ready for pickup.
Capture tiny hands (or paws!) in clay for a lasting keepsake. We press, dry, and fire your print; you return to paint (or we can paint it for you, if you’d like), and we glaze and fire one last time.
Want pieces you can use every day? Ask for stoneware projects. Stoneware is a vitrified clay body that holds up to the microwave and dishwasher when properly fired. (We still recommend hand‑washing handmade items to avoid chipping; avoid oven heat to prevent thermal shock.)
Always wanted to throw on the wheel? Our fun, beginner‑friendly session lets you learn centering and form a small bowl or cup. We finish, glaze, and fire your favorite piece so you can pick it up later. (Longer courses available if you get hooked—most people do!)
Not all pottery is made on a wheel. Learn slab, coil, and pinch techniques to create trays, mugs, planters, sculptures—whatever your imagination dreams up. Perfect for all ages and great for parties and school groups.
Choose a project, create it with our supplies, and then glaze/fire it. We’ll send you a message when it’s ready. It’s that easy!
Because this is a private home studio, appointments are required so we can set up your space and supplies. (Mobile events and school visits are also available.)
Most paint-it-yourself pottery is ready approximately two weeks after kiln firing. We’ll confirm the timing when you visit us, or we’ll contact you as soon as they’re ready.
Low-fired stoneware is decorative/functional, but should not be microwaved; handwash to protect your handmade finish.
Yes—book an individual appointment to paint during studio hours, or book a mobile session for your school, park, or home gathering.
Yes! If you’d like to bring ceramics and paints to paint at home, that option is still available. You can choose your items and colors, and we’ll pack everything for you. This is great if you’re traveling and want a project for your trip, or if our open hours aren’t the ones you’d like to paint. Or if you want to teach your own workshop with our pieces.
Low-fire earthenware can NEVER go in the microwave. If you’ve ever put something in the microwave and had the container get hotter than the food inside – that’s low-fire earthenware. Most of what we have at Artista By Lily is low-fire earthenware, so we say do NOT put them in the microwave.
As for the dishwasher, items can chip if they knock up against other items in the dishwasher, so we recommend that you hand-wash your hand-made items.
Please note: This is a private home studio. Appointments are required. For parks, schools, and house parties, we are happy to bring the art to you—just ask!
